The decorative tile of Flying Tigress is entirely handcrafted within the studio. The tile is hand-pressed into molds that are made from hand-carved originals or the field tile is rolled flat and cut into shapes. The tile is then carefully dried for at least a week and low fired into bisque (1900 degrees F). The tile then can be hand painted and fired once more into the beautiful finished product. Flying Tigress Artisan Tile is meant for use in back splashes and walls, light-use countertops, shower decoratives, fireplaces, stair risers, baseboards, and wood inlay accents. It can be suitable for outdoor use if there is not a freeze-thaw factor.
