1: Where can I use your tile in my project? Our tile is handmade at a low fire temperature. Therefore, it can be used in places such as kitchen back splashes, bathroom back splashes, walls, fireplaces, shower accents, stair risers, light use counter tops.
2: How much does your tile cost on average? Please call us and tell us what you are interested in for each piece is a different price. Our tile is entirely handmade, therefore it will cost more than what you will find at your average home super store.
3: I am an interior designer, how do I work with you? Please call or email with your credentials and we will set up an account for you. Let us know what products you are interested in and we will create files for each job. If you need samples, we can provide them for you.
4: Can you match colors for me? We cannot always match colors. If you send us a sample of your tile, we can let you know which colors match or come close, given tile color variations.
5: Where can I see your tile? Flying Tigress is just beginning to set up dealers around the country. Please call us and let us know where you live and we will direct you to the nearest dealer. If there is not one that is close to you, we can help you directly.
6: What are color variations and why do you have them? Color variations happen from each tile depending upon how glaze is applied, the particular clay body, and where it is placed in the kiln. This is something to expect with hand made tile and part of what adds to the beauty. If you are looking for perfect, uniform color, we have some glazes that have less variation, but we cannot offer anything that has zero variation.
7: How do you work with clients for design assistance? We can assist clients for no charge with a minimal purchase. Design fees will incur the more assistance you may request. For example, if you want us to design from start to finish, provide drawings, coordinate with your builder and installer, and provide work order for your installer, we will need to have a contract for design time on an hourly fee beginning after 2 hours free assistance.
8: We are a tile showroom. How can we add your tile to our collection? Please call us and tell us more about you. We can then determine what samples you might like to have and what you will need for product package like concept boards and color boards.
9: What are your business hours? We are in the studio typically 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday 9-6. However, studio hours are by appointment only so that we can assist you with our full attention. We are sometimes required to job site visits, and may not be here at the studio, or may be in another meeting with clients so please call ahead.
10: Can you make a custom design for me? YES! Please call or schedule a meeting and we can go over your ideas to see how we can accommodate you.
11: Do you install the tile, too? How do I find an installer? Flying Tigress does not install tile. If you are local, we can provide you with recommended installers that we have worked with. When looking for an installer, call a few of the best builders and/ or tile showrooms in your area and ask them for references. When interviewing your prospective installer, ask them if they have installed handmade tile, ask them for references of their largest projects, ask them how well they keep to their schedules. It is important that you have a good installer that cares. Your tile investment is in their hands, literally. Their job is just as important as ours since it reflects on how our handmade tile is presented.
